Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers simple, easy-to-learn techniques for home cooks on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has also worked at many of the best eateries in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy as well as competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell, who grew up living in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her following her graduation with the Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The student says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." I was never able to learn or do enough. After graduating at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. While in Italy she came to be aware of the philosophies behind Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of children who face difficulties. Additionally, she is a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador who promotes awareness of children with diabetes. She speaks about her cooking passion, and also shares her experiences in the food world, as she regularly goes on trips across the USA in both her roles as mentors and speakers. Anne said she felt lucky that I could share her true passion with others.
